The 2017 Toyota RAV4 has been the best-selling compact SUV in Canada this year, and is continually near the top of the sales charts year after year. If the RAV4 is so popular, it’s probably because it offers a rare blend of performance, fuel efficiency, comfort, practicality, reliability, resale value, and safety. In other words, the RAV4 has it all, even a hybrid version.
Toyota has made safety its number one priority, and is now offering a host of advanced active safety systems on all of its new vehicles. The 2017 Toyota RAV4 is no exception and features the Toyota Safety Sense-P suite of technologies which include Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection, Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist, Dynamic Radar Cruise Control and Automatic High Beams, all at no extra charge. No other compact SUV offers that much safety as standard equipment.
But safety is not the only way the new 2017 Toyota RAV4 stands out. Starting at $27,395, the 2017 RAV4 offers a rear-view camera, a new 4.2-inch information display, a 6.1-inch display audio system and heated seats right out of the gate. There are 7 versions in total in the 2017 Toyota RAV4 range along with four Toyota RAV4 hybrid trims which ensure that you always find the RAV4 that is just right for you and your family.
All 2017 Toyota RAV4 models are powered by an efficient and smooth 2.5-liter, four-cylinder engine that delivers 176 horsepower. The engine is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission that features a manual mode so that you can have better control on what your engine is doing. Front-wheel drive is standard while all-wheel drive is optional. Electric power steering and hill-start assist are all standard fare on the new RAV4.
The Hybrid version pairs a 2.5-liter, four-cylinder Atkinson Cycle engine with an electric motor in order to improve fuel economy to 6.9 liters per 100 kilometers on average in the city. Quite impressive for a vehicle that also features plenty of cargo space and interior space for both front and rear passengers.
Climb aboard the new 2017 Toyota RAV4 and you will also notice that there is a ton of storage space inside. No question about it, the RAV4, even if the current generation is more fun to drive than ever, is still the perfect family hauler. If you lower the rear seats, you get more than 2,000 liters of cargo space.
