The 2023 Toyota Highlander returns with significant enhancements under the hood that improve performance and efficiency while also adding improved connectivity and interior features. This should ensure that the Toyota Highlander remains the best-selling midsize SUV in Canada, a position it has held since 2020.
The Same Toyota Highlander We Know and Love
The 2023 Toyota Highlander doesn't change any of the characteristics that have made it so popular. It remains one of the most versatile and spacious three-row SUVs on the market with an impressive 1,387 L of cargo space behind the second row and 453 L of cargo space behind the third row. It can seat seven or eight passengers depending on the version and it is available with a hybrid powertrain that averages just 6.7 L per 100 km.
That said, the 2023 Toyota Highlander now receives an even more impressive engine that will be offered alongside the hybrid. The new 2.4-litre four-cylinder turbocharged engine that delivers a spectacular 265 hp and 310 pound-feet of torque. This represents a 17% improvement in torque over the previous 3.5 L V-6 but the fuel consumption rating remains the same at 9.8 L per 100 km. That means that the 2023 Toyota Highlander will be just as efficient with more power. It will also offer the same towing capacity with 5,000 pounds for the turbo engine and 3,500 pounds for the hybrid.
The 2023 Toyota Highlander also gets a new infotainment system which will be housed in either an 8-inch screen or a 12.3-inch screen depending on the version. There is also a new 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster in the Limited and Platinum models along with powerful new mirrors and a hands-free power liftgate available on more grades.
The improved Toyota infotainment system found in the 2023 Toyota Highlander was introduced earlier this year. It offers enhanced connectivity with advanced voice command features as well as Over-the-air updates and advanced navigation and destination assistance. The 2023 Toyota Highlander takes everything we love about the current three-row Toyota SUV, and makes it better. Give us a call today to learn more.
